Hello from Sophie

Hello everyone!

I am Sophie and one of the wonderful co-founders of this blog. I'm very excited that I get to start this project with one of my best friends and that you get to witness our shenanigans in the process.

Just a bit about me;
- I am currently studying History at the University of Toronto
- I am a travel junkie, I will go anywhere at anytime (as long as it doesn't interfere with school, because that's mucho important) but I mean it, I am ready to go at a moments notice, so if any of you want to take me on a trip, just let me know
- I want to be a lawyer and work for the UN and wow NYC with my wit and fashion sense

In order for you guys to get to know myself and Madeline a bit better, we decided our first post would be 5 things we can't live without so here goes nothing

1. "How to be Parisian Wherever You Are" - Anne Berest, Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret and Sophie Mas

This book is literally the best thing to happen to the world since the invention of Nutella. Also, it has truly taught me that I am essentially Parisian and therefore wonderful (as all women are)

2. My leather Roots backpack

For all of you who don't know, Roots is a Canadian company with some of the best quality leather I have seen. It is so durable and fits like 10kg of clothing for when your suitcase is too heavy, been there, done that, great time.

3. Red Lipstick

Not just any red lipstick, the MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Intense #43. Every woman needs a shade of red lipstick that she can rock, this is my shade. There's just something about red lipstick that is so inspiring and makes me feel so sexy and strong. If you do not have "your" shade, please go buy one and feel kickass.

4.  My phone

I hate to say this, I really do, but I would be so lost without my phone, I have everything on there and its all synced with my computer. I feel very efficient with it because I am but I hate the fact that I would be lost without it.

5. "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" - Julia Child

Bow down to the queen. Forget Beyonce, Julia Child is my queen. The recipes are tedious and time consuming and can be difficult but she's laid it out for you so simply that its incredible. Also, the woman loved butter and it shows in her recipes because everything I have made, melts in your mouth.  There is no cook book better than this one.

So there you have it, 5 things I can not live without, I just wanted to add one more thing

6. Madeline

Thank you for supporting me, listening to me, curling my hair and promising to beat up anyone who hurts me. I would be lost without you and I can't think of anyone better to start a blog with. May we continue to stand up for each other, empower each other and bake more delicious cookies with each other.

That is all for my corniness and babbling. I hope to hear from you all soon!

Lots of love,

Sophie
